Fishing Adventures!!
Foothills Guided Adventures offer a number of professionally guided trips with the best fishermen in the county. These guys have been fishing these local streams and lakes for decade. Listed below are the adventures that are offered. Please call for more details.
Lower Catawba River Float
$350 (5-6 hours)
This is my favorite adventure, make freezer space, or get the grease hot, as you will be taking fresh fish fillets home. Walleye and trout are the most sought after species on this trip, but be prepared for anything, this river is also home to Muskie, smallmouth and catfish. Walleye being the most delicious, I like to call them “fillet mignon of the lake.”
Catawba River Trout Float
$350 (5-6 hours)
This adventure is a river float through some of the best trout waters in Western North Carolina. This section is catch and release for most of the year making it a very productive stretch of River. It offers brown trout, rainbow and Brook Trout.
On Your Own! Float trip

If you know a thing or two about fishing and are confident enough to navigate down the Catawba River then this trip might be for you. We will provide you with everything that you need, fishing gear and boat, drop off and pick up.
All day Catawba River float trip.

This adventure incorporates the lower Catawba float and the trout float all in one.
Lake James Fishing Guide
$350 (4 hours)
We offer fishing charters on lake James for various species. Smallmouth bass and spotted bass, walleye, crappy and white perch. Lake James is a beautiful body of water and is considered by many to be the best smallmouth lake in the state.
Lake Norman Fishing guide

If you want to have a blast and fill the boat with bass, lake Norman should be number 1 on your list. This lake is widely known for its shear number of spotted bass. Here we guide for spotted bass, hybrid bass, catfish and white perch.
Lake Rhodhiss Fishing Guide

Lake Rhodhiss is a great place to find Bass, Striped bass or cat fish. Striped bass get massive and are fantastic in the frying pan.
Wolf Lake, Bear lake Fishing Guide
$500/ 6-8 hour trip
These are beautiful super clear lakes, nestled way back in the smoky Mtn’s. These Gems are loaded with trout certain times of the year, what a blast. Great trip for the whole family! please call to get a spot on the schedule and for more information.
Trout Stream Guide

There are several great trout streams located in the foothills of North Carolina, more specifically McDowell County, my home town. My favorites are Armstrong creek, headwaters of North Fork River, and the Headwaters if Catawba River. This would be a great trip for the family. It is a ton of fun navigating the creek banks and reeling in trout.
Hunting Adventures
We offer deer, turkey and bear hunts.
Turkey hunt
$350/ half day
If you want an adventure we have you covered. chasing turkeys through the mountains is an experience you just wouldn’t understand until you have done it. In my opinion this is the funnest Hunting experience we have to offer. Turkey season is Short, mid April thru mid May, book today to claim your spot on the schedule.
Bear hunt
$350 half day $450 full day
For those adrenaline junkies out there Mcdowell County NC is loaded with black bears. Foothills guided adventures has a number of properties that are known to hold black bear. You will have the option of a still hunt from a tree stand or a dog hunt. Bow hunt or a gun hunt. A cross bow or gun will be provided.
Deer hunting
$250 half day/$400 full day
Deer hunting can be challenging. Whitetail deer are inherently nervous and almost always know when a predator is in the area, Sometimes I swear these critters have a sixth sense. But we know the hot spots and do everything in our power to get the upper hand. We keep trail cameras up year around to know when it’s time to hunt. These things will have you shaking like a leaf when they walk into shooting distance. It’s an adrenaline rush like you have never felt. Call to book today.
